Gamers Day

ID Fail!

No Story, Muddy Textures, Screen Tearing to Cancer.

Only Plus: it’s the first game i saw where the localized (German) voice over is better than the english original.

It’s not even a secret that this Game is 100% Pure ment for Console only; No Graphic settings than resolution.

Gues ID’s glorious PC times are over once and for all and found new love in makeing crippled Console Titles.

I just gifted myself a new PSU and finaly a NAS, last one to have a backupspace at home finaly, in case PC breaks again.

Spended money: ~140,- €

Ahhhh, this is another crap day of mine!

About an hour ago my PC just turned off to dead. Seems like the PSU burned, i really hope it’s just that, i really have no money to invest in any new PC parts.
Tomorrow i’ll hit the next Service store where i purchased my PC parts in hope i still have some warranty left.

I just wish that the RMA won’t take again 4 weeks (as it was with my GFX about a year ago).

Will post an update once i know more.

Laterz

Due private reasons, i’m not much arround in the gaming world lately.

I might find some time to go back to gaming somewhen this month again.

See ya!

…well, this message didn´t came up when i finaly was able to login to my steamaccount again after a 12day long odyssey to fix a faud payment.

Mezor is backzor! :D

Ya, happened to me today… seems “clickandbuy” charged back some stuff. Untill this is resolved you won´t see me on Steam., probably for a week (banking is slow) :/

Three things;

1st; Today, i accidently came accross a page labeled “ModernWarfail2″. And i think it is probably the best and latest “proof-of Modern Warfare 2 = FAIL” site available.

2nd; I know and found it back in december (if not sooner) already, but a “hacking” group successfuly reverse ingeneered the “dedicated” server of MW2 wich is going into public state soon, followed by a guy who is currently codeing a fully emulated IWnet for players using  “cracked” (or call it “pirated”)  MW2 copies.

So much to “My response to “Can IWnet stop piracy”?”.

And to make that clear again: I do not own or play MW2 at all. And it seems i was damn correct by not (pre-)purchasing this game.

3rd; EA finaly announced some details about the Dedicated server stuff arround BC2 last week.

And, oh wonder…, they will also NOT have a PUBLIC dedicated server pack available! The company wich was MOST bitching about MW2 behavior in dedicated server handling now doeas (nearly) exactly the same!

Only difference, you can set a password, set configs. So “matching” is at least better handeled than it is on the (closed) IWnet. But it is still a no-go in PC market. I don´t want to be forced to pick up hosting on a “EA” partner.

Since the first minute i offering gameservers in my or other communities i done it on my OWN webroots! And knowing what´s on there.

In fact this “i can host it everywhere and anywhere” made games like CS, CS:S, TF2, BF1942 and BF2 to the success they are nowdays!

It´s a shame what happens on the gamemarket nowdays, and was introduced by IW and followed by EA.

I´m glad that at least VALVE still sticks to its roots!

(Nearly) Every single stupid gamemag jumped on the train of http://www.masswepray.com/.

Some of ‘em not even sure if it is a fake or not. However theres at least no such “Prayer Works Interaktive” Studio! (You big Gameingsites really should spend some more effort in doing a proper research on your news)

Ah, and it´s a “racist game”! Proof? See:

(for part2 see here)

6:14 “Can IWnet stop piracy”
The main “security” point is the lacking LAN (beside the unavailibility of ded. files) support. Wich does not shipp any server component within the game wich makes it impossible to start hacking on something to allow to run an illegal server.
The question is more, if it makes sense to produce a MP game without without LAN and ded. support? Wich in my eyes is not.
But at this point, let us take some other game in here wich never saw a Server file in public;
World of Warcraft. Nowdays it has many so called “Private Servers” up accross the world running up stable.
To sum up; such “Protections” give even more interest to hackers, hacking Providers private-dedicate boxes, modify the code and release it as proof of concept and give a even larger community the abillity to tweak the code and make it (illegaly for sure) available.
So the answer to “”Can IWnet stop piracy” is simply: NO, it can not.

Note: I´m not an CoD player at all, but i followed this discussion since it has started, and it has some important points wich regard any PC Gamer playing Multiplayer Games.
